Permit Information:

An annual permit sticker is REQUIRED for use of the transfer station. The sticker should be visibly posted on the outside of driver's side window.

Need a permit?
Stop by the Town Clerk's Office (1521 Peck Settlement Rd. Jamestown NY).
Once complete, mail or drop off application and $30 fee to the Town Clerk's Office.

Permits are for Kiantone residents ONLY. Permits are non-transferable and expire December 31. Cost for 2023 permit is $30 for 2.

Waste Guidelines:

The transfer station is for residents' household refuge disposal. 
Acceptable waste must be in a securely closed bag.

Zero Sort Recycling Guidelines:

Recycling should be brought in own container and boxes are to be broken down flat for recycling.
Acceptable Zero Sort Items:

• Newspapers & magazines
• cardboard (broken down, flat)
• box board (cereal, dry food boxes, paper egg cartons)
• Glass bottles & jars (rinsed clean)
• metal aerosol cans (empty and non-hazardous)
• Aluminum cans, foil (rinsed clean, no stuck on food)
• metal cans (clean, but labels and lids are ok)
• envelopes and opened mail (no Tyvek padded or plastic)
• shredded paper (in CLEAR plastic bag)
• Plastics (#1-7, rigid plastic rinsed clean)

Non-Acceptable Items:

• automotive components
• batteries
• appliances
• all glass (excluding food containers)
• yard waste
• computers & components
• tires
• furniture
• construction demolition waste (included home renovation)
• animal waste
